SOUTH SOMERSET UNDER 12 CHESS TOURNAMENT

Venue: ASH PRIMARY SCHOOL Main Street, Ash, Martock, TA12 6NS

Date: Saturday 18th October 2008

Time: 9.15am until 5pm

Entry Fee: £6.00 Cheques payable to SPSCA (£2 extra on the day)

Tournament: This will be a “Swiss Tournament”. All players play in all the rounds, no-one gets knocked out. Players of all abilities welcome, but children should be capable of playing a full day’s chess. Sections will be U12, U11 and U9 with separate age prizes for the best U10, U8 and U7. Clocks will be used on all boards. All moves to be played in 30 minutes for each player. A ½ point bye for round 1 can be arranged in advance.

Age Groups: Groups are determined by the child’s age as at midnight 31.08.08. Y7 = U12, Y6 = U11, Y5 = U10. Y4 = U9, Y3 = U8, Y2 = U7

Lunch: Please bring a good-sized packed lunch. Drinks and snacks will be on sale.
